Old Lyme, CT/ WW/Press/April 21, 2017 – –Angela M. Corrao, Psy.D. with The Spring Street Psychiatric Group, was selected for inclusion in the forthcoming Top Professional Clinical Psychologist of North America 2017 edition of The Who’s Who Directories.
Spring Street Psychiatric Group provides individual, couples, and family psychotherapy in a private practice setting, offering clinical evaluations to children, adolescents, and adults, as well as assess treatment needs, treatment goals, and immediate objectives.
Dr. Corrao is one of the few bi-lingual and bi-cultured psychologists in the state of Connecticut in private practice. Prior Dr. Corrao was at the Community Health Center in Middletown, CT. She has provided child and family therapy to clients from Puerto Rico, San Salvador, Chile and other Latin American countries. In New London, Dr. Corrao holds weekly group therapy meetings and parenting classes. She also does clinical interviews and mental status examinations in the effort to determine the emotional states and mental health needs of the mothers who attend her group.
Dr. Corrao was an Assistant Visiting Professor of Psychology at New Mexico Highlands University, which is located in her hometown, from 1994 to 1995. She lectured and taught undergraduate and graduate psychology courses, as well as coordinated practicum placements for graduate students at such mental health facilities as Las Vegas Medical Center and the New Mexico Highlands University Counseling Center. Additional responsibilities included contributions to recent re-evaluation of core curriculum courses. She also played an active role in redefinition and development process of the graduate program.
Dr. Corrao is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Connecticut Psychological Association, and the Society of Behavioral Medicine. She has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Connecticut College and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Connecticut College, as well as a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. Dr. Corrao completed her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. In her spare time, Dr. Corrao enjoys cooking, playing the piano and bicycling.
